thanksgiving week is always one of my favorites. since covid, wade and i have taken to an annual long weekend at home, building quiet family traditions. both of our families live out of state, and travel at the holiday just became too much, especially with a little one.

our favorite traditions include a chicken pot pie, baking entirely too many cookies, watching as much football as possible, and as much harry potter as we’re able to fit in. we also finish up decorating for christmas so that we’re able to enjoy it before we start traveling.

this year has been one for the record books. maya is just so excited every morning to turn on the twinkle lights, trying snickerdoodle for the first time may have made her week. its been amazing and so special; i’m trying to slow down the rest of the holidays as much as humanly possible.
