happy friday. another week, another month, almost all gone. it’s amazing how fast i feel like time is flying. the past few weeks have been something special. i am completely wiped, exhausted, but still supremely happy and have been taking in as much time with our fam as is possible.
so what has been going on the past few weeks? we’ve been working on starting to sleep train bubba, hence the exhaustion. he is eating so more week over week, and settling into his routine really well. i’m giving up some of my snuggle naps, but taking as loving how much more time he is awake, alert, and watching us.
maya has been a force. she has been watching the world intently and putting so many pieces together, and its amazing to watch. we took her to the zoo a few weeks ago, and she absolutely loved seeing the animals. seeing many of the animals we read about in real life brought such joy to her. she continues to talk more, stringing together more phrases and bringing out words that we had no idea she knew. on top of it all, she’s started swim lessons, which has brought so much joy to her. she watches the other kids amazed at what they can do, and excited to try more in the pool, gaining more confidence every week.
i’ve been slowly getting back to more and more things that make me happy. i was cleared by my doctor for exercise again, and have been back to running. while it feels amazing physically, i’ve been so happy to have time carved out for myself, to catch my breath and enjoy the weather.
audiobooks have also become my best friend. i had loved listening to them while i walked coco every morning, and though we’re not quite back to that routine, i’ve been letting them play all morning while i’m bopping around the house. some favorites lately have been carrie soto is back and someone else’s shoes. i just started not a happy family, and i’m loving it.
when i’m not constantly moving around the house or outside, i’ve crashed into the couch with nothing on the agenda but completely melting. i finally finished great circle, which i loved so much, despite its length, and started one of the girls, which is highly entertaining already. i’ll have to do bigger post with all of the books i’m loving, both audio and sitting down to read.
although the weather seems to have cooled off for a moment, i’ve been full on planning my summer wardrobe, excited at the prospect of not being pregnant for a full summer, my first after two years. gap has had a ton of cute options, and i’ve been loving a lot of the options on hm, like these linen shorts. i’ll have to do another whole sidebar on that also.
as we have continued to settle into our routine as a family of five (coco included, of course), we keep leaning into happy hours at home, cheese and charcuterie on the patio while maya plays, daily walks with the whole crew, and all of the wine, both old favorites and adventuring into some new favorites.
things i loved lately:
my new hurricane
iced lattes
morning runs
pilates
wines from domestique
deep cleaning the house
planning my next phase of gardening
playground dates with maya
online shopping
lunch dates with friends
spring pasta
