life lately

somehow it is already the middle of july. life seems to keep flying by in some moments and i’m amazed to realize we nearly have a two year old and five month old.

summer has been everything we expected with a bit of extra mayhem. after a quiet few months wrapping up maternity leave, i went back to work. the babies are loving daycare, and summer is taking full effect. we visited my family in cleveland, caught up with family and friends over the fourth, and visited wade’s family the most recently.

amidst all of our travel, we’re soaking up every summer activity that we can, spending weekend mornings at the farmer’s market or on long walks, afternoons at the pool, bubble machines and happy hour on the patio, and quiet lazy nights on the patio or snuggled on the couch.

i’m completely exhausted, but i am absolutely loving where we’re at and how far we’ve come. some days, i feel like i can barely see a day ahead, never mind what next week will hold. some weeks i hold my breath that the kids make it through a full week at daycare. other days, i can’t wait to take them out to go adventure or snuggle and read all of mayas favorite books. it really feels like a doozy.

i feel like there is so much i could say and go into, but i’m soaking up this time as a family and learning how to be a family of four. i’m learning who i am again, what this new version of me is, now that i’m a mom of two. i’m finding ways to stay creative, carving out time for my favorite things, walking and listening to an audiobook, running before the world starts going, cooking my favorite things, and soaking up summer.

we’re planning a couple more trips, and exciting things through the end of the summer. i’m loving planning my outfits, organizing the house, and enjoying wine on the patio with wade at night. i can’t wait to see what the rest of summer has in store, as we keep getting more and more used to being a family of four, and the chaos that inevitably comes with that.
