friday favorites

friday friday friday! it has been a really intense week; good, bad and chaos. i am so excited for the weekend. hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

local weekend getaways:
i mentioned it monday, but wade and i snuck away last weekend for our anniversary. my parents stayed with our kids, and it felt amazing to have a minute or two for ourselves. we don’t really have local help, so we feel very lucky when our parents can come to help. we popped over to the eastern shore of maryland, st. michael’s, this quaint beautiful town on the chesapeake bay. we loved our hotel, and remembered why we love living in maryland. we were right near the water (photo above), enjoyed so many oysters, a couple of date nights, and lots of hibernating, due to the weather in our hotel.

peonies:
i know, i know, everyone loves them. but we have peonies everywhere right now. they’re all over my tjs, and my neighborhood apparently is perfect for growing them. so many of our neighbors are able to grow them, and it makes me so excited to try to grow my own one day. ranging from bright, vibrant, rich magentas, to perfectly pale pink, to pristine whites. seeing them bloom in the wild makes my heart sing right now.

iced lattes:
the weather has really leaned into summer some days recently, and it has made me so so happy to have iced lattes back in my life. i keep mine super simple, and it brings me so much joy every morning. i prefer almond milk, especially for iced, because it really adds a creaminess and nuttiness that i can’t get enough of.

spring sweaters:
despite the occasional hot day recently, we’ve also had a lot of rain and chill in the air. i love breaking out my lighter sweaters again. i love this green one so much, and live in it whenever i can. its roomy and cozy, but also feels like such a great elevated basic.
