hi hi and happy monday! the last two weeks have been so special. after maya’s birthday party, we had a relatively normal week, and then last week a family staycation. our daycare was closed for the week, so we had a ton of adventures with the babies, capped with a couple of weekend nights away for just wade and i.

we’ve been living our best summer lives, popping into and out of the pool, stalking the ice cream truck, eating all of the pizza, going on long walks and finding all of the coffee.

we kept ourselves awfully busy during our staycation, with lots of time at the pool, a trip to the shopping mall, and visiting the county fair. maya absolutely loved seeing new places, but was so enamored with the animals at the fair. she keeps talking about them, and it is the sweetest thing.

my parents came down to watch the babies this weekend, and it was so nice for wade and i to get away for a couple of nights. we felt like we were dating again and it was something we didn’t realize how badly we needed. we also stayed local, and fully jumped on the chance to enjoy some of our favorite local haunts.
