hello fall...

as much as i love summer, spring, and even those early moments of winter, fall is far and away my absolute favorite time of year. i may be slightly biased, celebrating my birthday in october, but there’s something so perfect, so resetting about fall.

between that first break in summer heat and humidity, to that back to school, freshly sharpened pencil smell and crispness that hits the air in the fall, that first breath of fall is more exciting to me than the new year.

so far this fall, we’ve been home, spending as much time as we could outside, watching football at every opportunity wade can get, which also means reading as much as i possibly can in between playing chase, reading dinosaur books, and playing with blocks.

last weekend we visited our family, including a big trip to the farm to pick apples and pumpkins. maya absolutely loved it, touching as many pumpkins as she could to pick exactly her favorite one. she loved running between the apple trees, though apparently no apple was quite good enough for her.

meanwhile I've used every spare minute i can to go through all of our closets, old clothes, and any chance to reorganize. i can’t quite claim i’m as good as the home edit yet, but we’ll get there eventually.

the rest of fall has a lot of the same on tap, more football sundays at home, all of the halloween decorating this week and weekend, and finding all of my favorite fall sweaters to snuggle into the rest of the year.
