it’s slightly sad to see how long it’s been since i’ve written a weekly write up, but honestly, sometimes life just happens. i’m happy to be back after a week that felt like it was just next level in some ways.
while also my birthday, halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays, capping fall, and feeling every bit of that sugar buzz. add to it a one year old, who hasn’t actually seen such a thing before, joyously running around with all of the kids in our neighborhood, i’m not sure the holiday could get better.
maya absolutely loved trick or treating, even if only because we let her run loose throughout the neighborhood, deciding where to go next. once she did finally tucker out, we walked around the neighborhood to see the spooky houses and trick or treaters that were sure to not miss an opportunity for more candy.
this weekend, my parents came in to visit. we had amazing weather which made it easy for maya to show off her tricks, go down the slide an extra few times, and make sure that her grandparents knew all she was capable of. we made homemade pizza, grabbed our favorite italian, and wandered the neighborhood as much as possible.
craziness aside, i wandered through trader joes, finding all of the dumplings and easy dinners we could find, and stocking up on pastas and other goodies. we spent sunday watching football, surviving daylight savings, and plotting our christmas a bit.
