friday favorites
friday friday friday! i haven’t done one of these in a while and i’ve missed it. plus, i liked my outfit today. so let’s get into it.
levi’s 501 cropped jeans:
okay so i was seriously apprehensive about taking the plunge away from skinny jeans. i’ve just always known what works for me and been happy, but i finally pulled the trigger. i seriously cannot stop wearing these jeans. they are insanely comfortable, and i feel like super easy for me to dress in a few different ways, ranging from casual to dressy enough for a girls night out, or perfect for casual friday (see header photo).
weekends home:
it’s super corny, but after such a crazy start to the year, full of travel and events, it’s been so nice to have really quiet weekends home with the kids. maya lives for happy hour, and gets excited any time we talk about going out. brendan has been loving playing with maya outside, and having more room to roam the warmer it gets outside. my favorite is the coffee on the couch, watching cartoons and playing with the kids before we even think about what we want to do for the day.
race planning:
i talked about running longer distances and playing around with what that looks like for me. it’s been so reinvigorating to get back into running with the strength i built up years ago. i ran a 10k last weekend and have been toying with another half marathon (likely this fall), but it’s been really fun to think about doing more. the adrenaline rush from a race, and the sense of community as you run it is a high i really forgot how much i love. it’s been the perfect balance to the quiet and still that i usually have when i’m running for myself throughout the week.
morning walks with coco:
so i try to walk coco every morning before the kids wake up, assuming the weather makes sense. even in the winter, i bundle up and try to get out. i listen to an audiobook, we see some of coco’s neighborhood friends, and its my favorite start to the day. but once spring hits, it’s next level. it’s been so nice to see the sun out early, walk with the cherry blossoms, and see everything coming back to life, never mind not freezing to death.
