Hi. Hello.

welcome to my creative and happy space. i hope you love it all!

this week 2.11.22

what a week. i feel like we’ve been running all over the place, but also so desperately willing spring to come as fast as possible.

wade and i always joke that we have the best baby in the world, but she really was an angel this week, and so brave, between her checkup and shots. she is the sweetest girl, and rolls with whatever we throw at her in the best way possible. she is obsessed with food right now, and loving exploring new flavors and textures. we finally tried applesauce and she is loving it (though it’s not quite on the level of yogurt). she has been rolling over trying to play with coco or grab toys, and its just been so fun to watch.

for myself, my girlfriends and i had our first girls night out, with all of our husbands staying home with our respective kids to babysit. it was seriously the best night and i underestimated how much i needed it. it felt amazing to finally dress up and get out again. i also finally got my hair done (i’ve been trying since october to do so) and truly feel like a new person. brighter highlights and a fresh cut really does wonders.

i’ve been cooking up a storm all year, but was loving the chance to try more fish again. i tried this halibut en papillote with lemon, mushrooms and toasted sesame oil for myself last night, and really loved it. the recipe is from gwyneth paltrow’s book, the clean plate. it was so full of flavor and delicious; i subbed cod for the halibut and served it with fried cauliflower rice with green onions and shiitake mushrooms, and blanched green beans, sautéed with toasted sesame oil, garlic, and jf spicy salt, which i absolutely buy in bulk.

our plans this weekend include lots of sushi, pizza, and the superbowl. we’re excited for a warmer saturday that we can get out with the girls and just relax and enjoy some quiet time before the big game, my absolute favorite type of weekend.

i hope everyone else has a wonderful weekend.
